I discovered a way to process rice hulls—normally a waste product of the rice industry—and combine them with fragrant materials to create incense. Using this knowledge, I designed and ran a workshop with Design Marketo for their ‘Grains for Thoughts’ series at the Barbican Art Gallery as part of Station to Station – A 30 Day Happening by Doug Aitken.

Members of the public were invited to explore this meditative, analogue ritual and personalise their incense according to their scent preferences.
